Addiction Intervention

A person known for drug addiction or alcohol abuse, when being admitted for rehab should undergo pretreatment intervention before the proper treatment phase. This is to ensure that an appropriate program will be assign to the person that will meet the needs and will suit the person capacity during the latent phase of the treatment.

Drug addiction or alcohol abuse intervention will have a better percentage of working well when a complete assessment has been made. Different interventions have different effect on different clients so it is crucial to determine the right capability and the maximum tolerance of a specific patient. This will be of great help in all phases of the program as it plays a big part in the person’s journey in getting better.

What ever intervention services the client will go through; the important factor is the dedication that is shown in the program as it is being implemented. Having focus and good team work between patient and patient advocate are few of the key ingredient in reaching the goal. Bare in mind that failure is not an option and as long as there is signs of development one should never give up even though intervention is taking too long.
